Fernando Poo
(2024)
Housing
Fernando Poo is conceived as a flexible studio-home, designed to adapt over time and support new ways of living and working.
The space was stripped down to its original materials, removing all surface layers to reveal the building’s structure and allow for natural wall transpiration, reducing moisture.
Two previously tested strategies are combined: first, concentrating storage and services along the perimeter to free the central space; second, introducing a detached volume that serves as a spatial filter. This volume contains the bathroom, part of the kitchen, and movable panels, allowing the space to be divided according to daily needs. These defined elements create a series of undefined voids—flexible zones ready to host multiple uses.
