When the clients bought this early 20th-century house in the early 2000s, back when they were still a couple, almost none of the original features had survived previous renovations.

Two decades later, now a family of four, they asked us to fit three bedrooms into a single floor with only two windows. As the façade is protected, no changes to its openings were allowed. We solved this by adding a timber gallery to the existing balcony, giving both children’s rooms natural light and ventilation.

The project focused on making the most of the available volume, not just the floor area, while restoring the few original elements that remained: a section of the staircase and the wooden-beam ceilings.
